Help Everyone in Roanoke Valley Thrive
Your donation helps more people thrive. Thank you for making our community stronger!
Give Back and Take Action
Every June, volunteers from all over the Roanoke Valley region join people worldwide for a day of collective action. It's a time when we ask you to help us put our mission into action by volunteering to improve the building blocks for a good quality of life – education, financial stability and health.
WE DIDN"T LET A LITTLE RAIN STOP THIS YEAR'S DAYS OF ACTION!
WHAT AN AMAZING 3 DAYS OF SELFLESS ACTION FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR COMMUNITY.
As one of the volunteers stated: "A little rain can't dampen the power of collective kindness and determination."
Join us in giving a heartfelt thank you to each of the United Way of Roanoke Valley volunteers who generously donated their time and energy last week. Their unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in our community truly exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism.
Over the course of three remarkable days, more than 100 volunteers came together to lend a helping hand to our neighbors in Craig County, SE Roanoke City, and Franklin County. Through their collective efforts, we were able to create a stronger and more resilient region. While the tasks may have seemed simple, their impact will undoubtedly resonate for a long time to come.
We extend to those volunteers our sincere appreciation for their invaluable assistance to our esteemed community partners: New Castle Christian Church, Craig County Department of Social Services, Feeding Southwest Virginia, Habitat for Humanity, Presbyterian Community Center, Rescue Mission of Roanoke, Clean Valley Council, I Heart Southeast, and Pigg River Association. Their commitment to serving alongside these organizations is commendable and inspiring.
Our volunteers' dedication and compassion have touched the lives of many individuals, providing them with hope, support, and opportunities for a brighter future. Thank you to the following companies who participated in this year's Day of Action: City of Roanoke, First Citizens Bank, Boxley, Carter Bank & Trust, Goodwill Industries of the Valleys, Feeding Southwest Virginia, Humana, Roanoke Times, Wells Fargo, Tri-Area Healthcare - Franklin County, Craig County Department of Health, Craig County Department of Social Services, First Bank Virginia, Optical Cable Corporation, and Morrisette Packaging.
We are also grateful to our Days of Action sponsors: Truist, The Roanoke Times, and Craig-Botetourt Electric Cooperative who made generous financial contributions making Days of Action possible. We look forward to the future opportunities to collaborate and continue making a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most.
