Community Health Worker (CHW) - Franklin County

United Way of Roanoke Valley is seeking 3 highly motivated, organized, outgoing and detail-oriented Community Health Workers to join our team. The CHW, in partnership with the West-Piedmont Health District and other Community Stakeholders, will advocate in favor of vaccine acceptance and work to increase and expedite vaccinations in the Franklin County community, while also working to remove barriers to vaccination. Candidates must be a team-player, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to gain trust of people from various walks of life and socio-economic levels. The Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and must successfully complete Community Health Worker training upon hire. Two years of general work experience and experience in community outreach and working with underserved and marginalized populations preferred. A valid Virginia Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required.

This is a full-time, grant funded position at 37.5 hours per week. This is a non-exempt, hourly paid position at $19.50 per hour, with benefits. UWRV is an EOE and drug free workplace.

Virginia Infant and Toddler Specialist - Piedmont Roanoke

United Way of Roanoke Valley is seeking a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented Infant and Toddler Specialist. Successful applicants will possess excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills; have proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite; and be familiar with navigating and managing information in databases. This position will mentor infant and toddler caregivers; assist with training coordination; and serve as SBGR’s liaison in the community. This is a full-time, grant funded position. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in infant and toddler or early childhood education, child development, human services, social work, or child related field required.
