United Way recognizes that many individuals and families are facing tough financial times. Virginia Awards First Star-Ratings to Childcare Programs
Four local childcare centers working on quality improvements with the Smart Beginnings of Greater Roanoke coalition became among the first set of providers to receive star-ratings from the Commonwealth.
The Virginia Star Quality Initiative (QRIS) was created to provide a consistent way to distinguish the level of quality in early education programs. Click here to learn more about the QRIS and the list of star-rated providers in our area.
UW Partnership Helps Community Save Over $500,000 in Prescriptions!

This year to date, our collective efforts have saved the community almost $506,000 in prescription costs and helped people to fill over 27,000 prescriptions in our community.
