UNITED WAY OF ROANOKE VALLEY WELCOMES NEW V.P. OF RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

United Way of Roanoke Valley is pleased to announce that Alisha Childress has joined the leadership team as Vice President of Resource Development, effective May 24, 2021.

“I am thrilled to serve my hometown of Roanoke and the surrounding counties,” said Childress. “I look forward to working alongside the UWRV team, our community partners and leaders, and the individuals and families that we serve.”

Childress joins UWRV from Apple Ridge Farm, where she served as Director for Operations for the past two years.  Prior to that she was the Director of Community Cultivations at The Pace Center in Richmond. Childress, a Roanoke native, holds two master’s degrees from the University of Maryland, where she studied Nonprofit Management and Business Administration.

“Alisha’s passion and energy, her history of building community relationships and her experience in operations management are exactly what we need to advance fundraising goals as the community comes out of the pandemic,” said Abby Hamilton, President & CEO of United Way of Roanoke Valley. “We are thrilled to have her on the team, and we’re looking forward to mobilizing our business, local government and nonprofit partners for a strong 2021 campaign.”
