Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration with Dr. Virgil Wood: What Martin Luther King Jr. Saw on the Mountain Top

JANUARY  12, 2018 – Tonight is the FREE Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration with Dr. Virgil Wood: What Martin Luther King Jr. Saw on the Mountain Top. Dr. Wood is a church leader, educator, and civil rights activist who has committed much of his life’s work to the struggle for economic and spiritual development among the nation’s disadvantaged. He served with Martin Luther King Jr. as a member of his National Executive Board of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference for the last ten years of Dr. King’s life, and coordinated the State of Virginia in the Historic March on Washington August 28, 1963. We had the pleasure of getting a preview of his lecture this afternoon with students at North Cross School and trust us, this is an inspiring event you won’t want to miss.

Reception starts at 6 pm followed by the lecture at 6:30 pm at Roanoke Collegehttp://bit.ly/2qYopg2

We are a proud sponsor of this event along with Total Action for Progress, North Cross School, Roanoke Branch NAACP, and Roanoke College Departments of Multicultural Affairs and Community Programs.
