PROTECTING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY

Updated 3.30.2020

Now, more than ever, United Way of Roanoke Valley is hard at work to help serve the most vulnerable in our community.

We are in communication with local leaders in healthcare, government, childcare, education, utilities, and our nonprofit partners who provide direct services.

This period of evaluating community needs and coordinating cross-sector resources is crucial to ensure families and individuals get the help they need in the quickest, most effective and cost-efficient way possible.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

2-1-1 Virginia Southwest Center has now been activated by the Virginia Department of Health to help answer questions regarding the coronavirus; it is meant to ease the number of calls to E-911. When you dial 2-1-1, you are connected with a professional who uses a database of health and human services to provide you with the information you need. All referrals are confidential.

All Commonwealth of Virginia Assistance Programs: CommonHelp
The Virginia Department of Health also has a public information line, 877-ASK-VDH3, to answer questions about the novel coronavirus situation.

For parents/guardians who are essential personnel, please visit Smart2Start to complete an online childcare application.
