2019 COMMUNITY INVESTMENT PROCESS

United Way of Roanoke Valley is rolling out a three-tiered funding model that places significant priority on the design and development of formal collaborations.

United Way is currently seeking proposals for its People-Centered Investment grant funding tier.  This RFP is best suited for programs that demonstrate strong alignment and effectiveness in addressing the following priority needs that are most complementary to the collaborative work already funded by United Way, and aligned with the 2018 Roanoke Valley Community Health Assessment [1]: 

  1. Access to housing and income stability supports, and homelessness prevention services
  2. Transportation to facilitate access to services and supports
  3. Access to healthcare services (primary care, mental health, dental)
  4. Access to health healthy and affordable foods
  5. Access to safe and healthy homes

Agencies can submit multiple programs that align with one or more areas above in response to this RFP.

Funding Period: July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020
Application Deadline:  February 13, 2019 at 5:00 PM 

Agencies need to submit program information to Raquel Conn raquel@uwrv.org by January 25, 2019 to gain access to

This RFP is aimed at identifying and partnering with specific programs/partnerships that assist families in moving from instability to self-sufficiency by effectively addressing one or more priority strategies as aligned with the 2018 Franklin County Area Community Health Assessment [2]:

1. Stabilizing strategies:
• Maintain housing stability and prevent homelessness
• Increase access to healthcare services (primary care, mental health, dental)
• Increase access to healthy and affordable foods

2.Growth strategies:
• Support students in achieving school success
• Increase household income
• Help families build assets

Agencies can submit multiple programs that align with one or more areas above in response to this RFP.
