LEADERSHIP GIVING LEVELS

Leadership Givers are those who contribute $500 or more annually. Their generosity continues to have a huge impact on United Way. In the 2004 Campaign, over 39% of the total raised - $3,036,963 – came from 2,449 Leadership Donors.

The 37 members of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society (with gifts over $10,000), raised $485,855. Special thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Edward Murphy for chairing this group. The Presidents Circle (donating $1,000 - $10,000), chaired by John McLeod of McLeod & Company, raised a total of $1,698,548 and increased their membership by 33 donors. Commonwealth Society donors, those who give between $500 and $1,000, raised $852,559.

We are grateful to 2005 Leadership chairs, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rugaber, and to John McLeod for continuing to chair the Presidents Circle.

Leadership Donors come from all walks of life, but they have one thing in common: their desire to improve the quality of life for all citizens in the Roanoke Valley. They have decided that the most effective way to achieve this goal is to use United Way of Roanoke Valley as their vehicle to impact their community.
