Gifts in Kind

United Way of Roanoke Valley is a proud partner with Gifts In Kind International, a nonprofit organization linking businesses and nonprofit organizations to provide quality products and services that improve lives in communities around the world.

This partnership enables agencies that care for the ill, needy, children, and youth to receive donations from various community retailers. Examples include bedding and towels for victims of natural and man-made disasters; craft items for pre- and after-school programs; and clothing for those returning to the workforce.

More than $40,000 worth of merchandise finds its way to local agencies annually through this program. United Way of Roanoke Valley helps connect those in need with in-kind donations from these organizations and retailers:

•   Bed, Bath and Beyond
•   IBM
•   Joann Fabrics stores
•   Talbot’s
•   Roanoke College
•   Roanoke Higher Education Authority
