Thank you for serving as your company's Employee Campaign Manager (ECM) to help United Way of Roanoke Valley make a positive difference in our community.

This year's campaign theme speaks to all donors, but it is espeially fitting for ECMs. Without you, there really is no way that we could effectively reach your friends and associates on the job.

Workplace campaigns such as the one you will conduct are at the heart of United Way’s fundraising efforts. We are grateful to our partner companies and to the individuals willing to dedicate part of their time to serving as an ECM. You enable everyone in your business to have an opportunity to share in the community-building work of United Way. You are the critical link in communicating the benefits of donating to the United Way Impact Fund. Your leadership strengthens our community by helping your neighbors in need, and allowing your co-workers to participate in community giving in the most effective and efficient way.

Within this web site are tools to assist you in planning a campaign that can be both fun and educational. I hope you'll conduct activities that encourage recruiting new donors and increasing contributions from current donors. Help spread the word that it takes all of us working together to truly improve lives and strenghten our community.

Please remember as you begin your campaign planning you have the support of United Way staff, loaned executives, and volunteers. We're all in this together -- and with your help, we can make great things happen for our community.
