Days of Caring Projects Enrich Campaigns
Nothing invigorates people like seeing firsthand how United Way partner agencies serve people in need. Organize a volunteer group from your workplace as a way to highlight your United Way Campaign.
This year, rather than selecting a specific "day" for project work, we're declaring the "Season of Caring" so you can schedule work to coincide with your own workplace campaign.
The list below includes a range of project ideas suitable for groups of one to unlimited participants. Some projects must be done at the agency, while others can be conducted from your workplace.
For more information, suggestions, or questions, please call or e-mail Terry Smith at 777-4208 or terrys@uwrv.org.
First, decide what kind of work you're interested in doing. Projects are grouped this year into 4 categories:
1. Client Contact Activity Providing interaction with people who benefit directly from programs that you help fund with your United Way gifts.
2. Manual Labor Enabling United Way partner agencies to complete improvement projects they could not do without volunteers.
3. Clerical/office activity Helping partner agencies with "white collar work" that is less physically demanding.
4. Collection drives Gathering materials saves money for agencies and simplifies employee participation.
Then, click the link above to scan the list of available projects. Shaded items have already been assigned. Refer to the contact name to discuss your interests, get more details, and sign up for that project.
That's all there is to it! Except for one very important step: please notify United Way that the project has been taken.
