United Way Picks Board Officers
United Way of Roanoke Valley has elected Kathy Graves Stockburger of Kathy Stockburger Consulting to serve as 2007 board chair and Barry Henderson of SunTrust Bank as its vice chair.
Mike Coppola from Advance Auto Parts was elected to serve as 2007 campaign chair and Lee Wilhelm of JM Turner & Co. was elected treasurer. Elections took place during the organization’s annual meeting on January 9.
Members elected to the executive committee, in addition to officers listed above, include: Ed Garner, Capstone Solutions, Audit Committee Chair; Kerri Thornton, Carilion Clinic, Community Impact & Investment Chair; Tom Bagby, Woods Rogers PLC, Personnel Chair; Jean Glontz, community volunteer, Policy Committee Chair; and Jim Ford, retired from Northwest Mutual Financial Network, Planned Giving Chair. Board chair for 2006, Tom McKeon of the Roanoke Higher Education Center, serves as ex officio Board Development Chair.

United Way of Roanoke Valley serves residents of Roanoke, Salem, Vinton and Botetourt, Craig and Roanoke counties through a network of more than 60 human care programs operated by 27 partner agencies. Its mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of people in our community.
