Six Loaned Executives Join CampaignSix Loaned Executives have been added to the staff of United Way of Roanoke Valley to assist with the 2006 community campaign. Seven businesses are lending extra support to the United Way campaign by providing or sponsoring individuals for a temporary assignment with the region’s largest annual philanthropic drive. The Loaned Executives work as United Way staff to help some of the region’s 450 companies that conduct workplace giving campaigns. Other area companies are sponsoring these Loaned Executives: United Way of Roanoke Valley’s 2006 community campaign kicked off August 30 at United Way Night with the Salem Avalanche, featuring ceremonial opening pitches and reduced ticket prices for Team United Way. United Way of Roanoke Valley serves 70,000 people in need every year by supporting health and human service programs for citizens of Roanoke, Salem and Vinton and Botetourt, Craig and Roanoke counties.The organization’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of people in the community.
