United Way Offers Answers To War Crisis Questions

ROANOKE, VA – The United Way of Roanoke Valley has always been recognized as a community partner.  Especially in times of war, this is no different.  The U.S.A.’s conflict with Iraq is another opportunity for United Way to lend a hand in the community.  In addition, major support for military families comes from the American Red Cross.  When the military asked United Way to identify resources in the community, our partner agencies were more than willing to oblige.By asking the tough questions and seeking out tough answers, United Way hopes to improve tomorrow by planning today.  UWRV is offering a toolkit online entitled “Helping Companies and Their Employees Cope in the Event of War.   United Way of America developed the toolkit for national consumption.  It addresses issues including “Preparing Your Business: A Checklist,”  “Tools for Helping Employees Cope,” and “Homeland Security” among others. Distress associated to the war is often distracting and overwhelming.  The text provides information and aid for those having trouble dealing with the war in Iraq.  This toolkit is a must-read for anyone currently in a leadership position.

The toolkit and information about assistance can be found at www.uwrv.org.

From the homepage, users must click on the American flag or accompanying “War Crisis Relief” to find the information.
