Domestic Violence Calls Down in Roanoke

The Roanoke Times reported that domestic offense calls tracked by the Roanoke Police Department have reached their lowest level in a decade, decling 26 percent in 2011 from the previous year.

The article went on to note that the drop was due to renewed police efforts to work with advocates of victims of domestic abuse and to alert potential victims to free services available to them.
