The Tocqueville Society

The Tocqueville Society honors local philanthropic leaders who contribute $10,000 or more annually to United Way.  Our local society was established in 1990 as an affiliate of the national Tocqueville Society Program of United Way Worldwide.  In our most recent campaign, our 34 Tocqueville members contributed $470,000.

Tocqueville Society members recently attended a special dinner event at the home of Frosty and Barbara Landon. 

 

The Presidents Circle 

Donors whose annual contributions reach $1,000 to $9,999 are distinguished members of the Presidents Circle, a multi-level recognition that honors Virginia's heritage as the Mother of United States Presidents.  The Presidents Circle dates back to 1983, when 12 charter members were recruited as Vanguard Associates, donating leadership gifts of $13,860.  Today, there are 1,037 caring individuals and families who contribute $1,806,799 to United Way of Roanoke Valley.

The Commonwealth Society

Emerging leadership givers whose gifts are between $500 and $999 are recognized as members of the Commonwealth Society.  United Way's success at making our region stronger depends on the generosity of the 1,519 donors in this group who contributed a total of $930,122. 

 

 

 

 

The Catalysts

The Catalysts were established in 2008 in an effort to engage younger philanthropists in personal development and community involvement through their support of United Way.  Members are community oriented individuals or couples, 40 years old or younger, contributing an annual gift of $250 or more.
