United Way of Roanoke Valley’s mission focuses on creating a measurable difference in four impact areas:

• Investing in Children and Youth
• Strengthening Families
• Improving Health and Self-Sufficiency
• Promoting Senior Independence

A network of 64 health and human service programs operated by United Way partner agencies addresses these impact areas. More than 70,000 Roanoke Valley citizens are able to get important services that improve their lives.

At the same time, our region is strengthened by United Way's community partnerships with people across the Roanoke Valley: from business, government, faith groups, and ordinary citizens. Together, we look at the most urgent needs and probe underlying causes of our most serious problems. That's how United Way can really make an impact on the issues that matter.
