2007 QUALITY ENHANCEMENT WORKSHOP SERIES

Theme for November - December: LANGUAGE AND LITERACY

This month's topic: EARLY LITERACY

Learning to read and write is critical to a child's success in school and later in life. There are many building blocks to learning to read, and you can begin building them at birth. Talking and listening to children and using books as part of an everyday routine can help all children build skills to become better readers. Learn how you can help children develop print awareness, alphabetic awareness, and phonological awareness on the road to being successful readers and writers.
