2011 United Way of Roanoke Valley Campaign Awards Celebration
Thank you to everyone that attended the 2011 United Way of Roanoke Valley Campaign Awards Celebration. More than 400 people attended the event at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. The Burton Center for the Performing Arts opened the show with an entertaining and fast-paced rendition of "Joyful, Joyful" from the hit musical "Sister Act." WDBJ7's own Kimberly McBroom and Seth Kovar then welcomed the crowd and handed out many awards to some very worthy companies and organizations. The event culminated with the announcement of the 2011 campaign total by Debbie Meade, President and Publisher of The Roanoke Times and the 2011 Campaign Chair. Meade revealed that the 2011 campaign is projected to raise more than $6.14 million, almost $100,000 over the 2010 campaign. Thank you to everyone that donated to the 2011 campaign!
